Lovely photo of a custom order being used.

Remember these finished, but unstuffed pillows?  Lucy finished them, and posted pictures!

I had a lot of fun creating these pillows for Lucy, over at Closer to Lucy.  She wanted Love in blue on small brown accent pillows.  After visiting Joann’s looking for the ‘perfect’ fabric… we opted to use MicroSuede in light and dark tans.  I love them ‘sew’ much I wanted to keep them, but as promised they went off in the mail to Lucy.

The finished pillows look wonderful with Lucy’s new bed set;

{check out her post for more pictures of her finished bed}

Clearance Basket into Redneck Tissue Holder

Take one super cute basket from the clearance rack at Hobby Lobby…

Add a length of fabric {folded in half, sewn, and then flipped to create a ‘sleeve’}, hand stitch to inside of basket {super easy}, run ribbon through sleeve, add a roll of super comfy toilet paper, and Voila!

Now I don’t have to worry about whether I have an extra box of kleenex in the supply closet.  Now that trully is to cute to be ‘redneck’.  Isn’t it?

Fresh Flowers Table Runner ~ FINISHED!

I used a self-binding miter corner technique from Eleanor Burns Quilt-In-A-Day show, but can’t find an on-line video for her version.  It worked very well, and I love how the corners look finished.  Not perfect by any means, but they are done, LOL!

I am ‘sew’ excited to have this finished!!!!

Baby Bear Fleece Blankets

This is one of two fleece baby blankets I finished for the girls’ playroom over at Grandma’s house.  I used my open-toed walking foot to attach the polyester silk ribbon to this fun fleece Mom picked out at Joann’s.  We purchased a yard and a half of fabric, divided it in two and added the silk binding.  I used one package of binding per blanket.

In this final picture you can see the corner detail.  Here is a link to the tutorial I used to refresh on how to add binding to a single layer of fleece.  The walking foot made a big difference in how evenly the silk binding feed through the feed dogs.  I don’t have close-ups, but the binding I did without the walking foot has these little ripples that didn’t occur with the walking foot.

If you make these types of fleece blankets and haven’t used a walking foot… I would encourage you to get the walking foot appropriate for your machine.  It made a lot of difference and is a great foot to add to your tool box.

~ About Me ~

I'm Kimberlee, the owner/creater of 'The Spunky Diva'. Here is a little about me... In addition to my love of blogging I adore all crafts, sewing, quilting, improving my non-existent cooking skills, and playing with my two girls. We have a 'collection' of animals around the place to keep us busy; two 'huge' dogs, a cat, kittens, several horses, and assorted wildlife. We live east of Austin, Texas, in the middle of farm country. Here at 'The Spunky Diva' blog I get to share daily life moments, fun crafts, sewing and quilting progress/finishes, and brag about my 'Babies'. Thank you for visiting and sharing some of your day with me!
