How to Do Your Makeup in the Heat
Summer is lovely, isn’t it? As it has a lot of positive aspects we can consider talking about, there are also some issues with it – the makeup. How can you possibly do your makeup while there is an unbearable level of heat outside? Well, there are a lot of things you can do regarding this matter and we will enumerate some of them in this article.
It is always important to keep in mind that these are not “rules” you will need to follow, but some suggestions that we’ve found to be really helpful when it comes to summer makeup.
Keep It Simple
Bear in mind that you shouldn’t be wearing a lot of make-up, especially if we’re talking about matte formulas because they tend to get a little bit too “cakey” at some point. Specialists recommend not using foundation on the entire face. You can just add a little bit of concealer here and there if you need it. Also, you should skip the powder as well, because there are high chances it can budge.
After the base is set up, you can use the makeup you prefer the most. For instance, there are people, just like me, that enjoy wearing cat-eye winged eyeliner on a daily basis. Even though it is hot, this shouldn’t stop you – pick a waterproof eyeliner so you will make sure it won’t drip from your eyes.
Furthermore, try using as many waterproof products as possible, because they last longer than the usual ones. For the mascara, try to use a water-resistant one so it won’t smudge underneath your eyes.
Add Some Glow
Regarding the rest of the face, you can add some makeup to make your skin look refreshed and a little bit sunkissed – this is an amazing tip for the summer days. For example, you can add a bronzer to the parts of your face that are naturally hit by the sun, such as, the bridge of your nose, your cheekbones, and even your forehead. You can opt for a powder or a creamy bronzer – they both do wonders to your skin.
Moreover, adding highlight to your cheekbones will make your skin look dewy and really healthy. Try using a cream-based highlighter and apply it on the tip of your nose, cheekbones and Cupid’s bow.
Depending on the occasion, you can choose from a lip balm, that will only hydrate your lips, a shiny lipstick, which will add some dimension to the face, or a liquid lipstick, if you think about wearing it for a long time and you don’t want to reapply it every 2 or 3 hours.
Setting It All Up
In the summer days, there is a bigger tendency for the makeup to move or budge so we recommend a setting spray. This product can do wonders because apart from setting your makeup on your face and making sure it will look the same for the entire day, it also has a “refreshing” purpose because it is mainly water-based and will definitely revive you.
All in all, makeup is just a way of expressing yourself and you should always wear what you feel comfortable with.
Summer days can sometimes be tough, that’s why it is recommended to wear a minimum amount of makeup and avoid the powder-based one because it can get very messy throughout the day.
Try moisturizing your skin as much as you can, to avoid the dry or oily skin. Last, but not least, always carry a lip balm or a moisturizer with you to make sure your dry skin won’t play tricks on you.
