Finished top for Sugar Pop HSTs

I am tickled ‘pink’ with the finished quilt top.  This is what I love most about quilting… having an idea in my head, and then seeing that idea turn into reality.

Isn’t that why we create?

The finished top is about 47″ by 56″, and I picked fabrics from two charm packs of Moda’s Sugar Pop fabric, designed by Liz Scott.  The gray I used in this quilt is Kona Ash.   The inner gray border is 2″ cuts {finished 1.5″}, and the outer border is made up of 6.5″ cuts of Sugar Pop Mod Buds Pink.

I am going to piece together the backing and get this quilted asap.  It is for my newest niece, Ms. Payton, on Mr. SD’s side of the family, who born this past week.  A week earlier than the doctor had hoped, but both momma and baby are doing great.  Mr. SD’s mom can’t wait to go visit in October, and I am planning/hoping to have this beauty ready to tuck in her suitcase for the trip up to Cornhusker territory.

Check out the stack of HSTs {half square triangles} that went into this quilt top.

 Kimberlee, Thank you for visiting!
