Finished It Friday at The SD #02

With only three weeks till Christmas I am sure there are many projects that are just waiting to be shared after the Holidays.  I have several nearing completion that I just can’t wait to post after they are given and received.  No sneak peaks here!

But… I can share this finish!  It is for my newest Niece, and I don’t think she is reading my blog yet, LOL!

Name: ‘Sugar Pop Zig and Zag’

Made For: My newest niece in Corn-husker territory

Fabric: Prints are from the Sugar Pop collection by Liz Scott from Moda; the HSTs are charms pulled from three charm packs; gray solid is Bella ‘Ash’ {I think}

Batting: a very thin polyester from Joann’s
Size: 45″ wide by 52″ high

Quilting: Some basic line quilt to highlight the zig zag and diamonds quilted into border

Dates: Start: June 2011 ~ Finish: December 2011

Pattern: ‘original’ pattern inspired by the amazing zig zag quilts created using HSTs found across Blogland this year.

Weight Check In… a day late, but…

Weigh-In Wednesday

I lost 3 pounds since last week!!!!!

My biggest weight loss since having Ms. V last January.  To say I am excited is an understatement, LOL!

The reason for this success is definitely getting in one cardio and three strength workouts since my last weigh-in.  I can’t claim victory over the midnight munchies, but… we haven’t had junk in the house so there hasn’t been a lot of sugary treats in the mix of calories.  Plenty of bread though, LOL!

Goals for next week;

more cardio

keep up the strenght work-outs

nix the midnight munchies

Goal Tracker:

Goal Weight = 135 pounds

Current Weight = 167 pounds

Pounds to Lose = 32 pounds

Pounds lost since start =  33 pounds

{weight of 200 was before Ms. V’s birth}

Wish me luck!  How are you nixing bad habits during the ‘toxic’ holidays?

Kimberlee, Thank you for visiting!

WIP Check~In {12/7/2011}

With Christmas just a few weeks away, I thought it would be fun to get aboard the WIP Train again {Work In Progress over at Freshly Pieced}.  With the holidays coming and with Ms. E and Ms. V into everything it has been difficult {to say the least} to get sewing time in.

But….

The Sugar Pop Zig-Zag quilt is finally completly and totally finished!!!!!!

{other Sugar Pop updates}

This quilt turned out ‘sew’ pretty.  I will be posting all the quilt ‘details’ in a finish post on Friday to tie in with Finish it Friday link-up that I am hosting with Angie over at Stitching by Starlight.

I have broken ground on the Blue Woven Ribbons quilt, but could use some help on the fifth fabric choice.  I origonally bought the leafy fabric to use with these other four blue fabrics, but even though the blues in the fabric go with the other four fabrics, I am just not sure about the orange and green.  Thoughts????

For this quilt I have all the blocks pieced, and am ready to start piecing the quilt top.  Where I was looking adding the leafy fabric was in a checkerboard border.

And that is it for progress this week.  I have a crochet shawl project I am working on while Ms. E knits {makes a mess} with a ball of left over blush yarn from her Toddler Scarf, LOL!

Toddler Knit Scarf

Hello Ya’all ~

Here is my finished project for this week.  A toddler size scarf to match a full length {60″} scarf I knitted for myself earlier this year.

I used size US 19/15 mm needles with Homespun Fashion Yarn and a strand of super soft cotton {can’t remember the brand and no tag now}.  I love the super soft effect this combo of yarns creates.

When it came time to model for pictures…

Ms. E was sound asleep in a nap that lasted over three hours!!!  So, Ms. V was very accommodating and modeled the scarf beautifully.

The future blackmail picture of Ms. E…

Ms. E loves dragging her pop up play tent into her bed for naps.  It certainly creates an entertaining effect, LOL!  About the tent… it was a set of three from Toys’R'Us for about $30 that Ms. E got for her b-day.

I am linking this project up to Finish It Friday {FiF} over at Stitching by Starlight.

A note about last week’s link-up that was supposed to be live here at The Spunky Diva.  I sincerely apologize for not getting the linky live on Friday {or any time over the weekend either}. Our Internet connection was working fine Thursday morning when I posted my Thanksgiving post.  Later that night when I got on the computer to post Friday’s party… the Internet was out… gone…

We didn’t get the Internet back up till Sunday evening.  Boy did I learn how addicted I am to being ‘connected’ at all times.  I previously had web capabilities on my iPhone, but had downgraded my plan to save money since I can use my iPhone on the web most anywhere using the WiFi connection.

However… when there is no Internet to WiFi… there is no way to e-mail anyone.  So, I wasn’t even able to e-mail Angela about my glitch.  Again my apologies, and I look forward to checking out the projects linked up over at Stitching by Startlight this week.

Kimberlee, Thank you for visiting!

Check out where I am linking up this project here.
