Sew-On Fabric Labels

One of my goals this next year is to take my sales part of crafting and create a more ‘professional’ image with my products.  I think putting labels on the towels and items I create is a step forward in doing this.  So, I ordered sew-on labels from Mommie Made It, a fellow Etsy shop.  Here is how they arrived:

I used a straight edge and a rotary cutter to separate the rows of labels.

Then I used a pair of small scissors to make the small cuts between labels.

Each cut label is placed in a mason jar (I love reusing glass jars).  I used a piece of fabric, secured with a hair band, as the lid so that the labels could breath.  I am not sure if this is important or not with labels.

They fit easily on the shelf, and are easy to see.  (Next thing to do is tidy up the shelf, LOL)
Here is a picture of one of the labels sewn onto a Valentine’s Stay-Put Towel.

Grandpa’s Christmas Gift – Bathroom Towels

Mom and I are working on sprucing up Grandpa’s room, and we found this wonderful blue and tan flower motif fabric on clearance.  A nice blue that matches the ‘wonderful’ blue carpet already in his room.  The house is pretty much inundated with country blue as you can see from previous shots of the kitchen.

I hand gathered the fabric for the ruffle at the bottom of the towels.  I am not sure where exactly I first saw the project that gave me the idea to do this gathered fabric on the towels, but here is a great tutorial on creating ruffled fabric at Simply Modern Mom.  I know that I have certainly been inspired by this pillow at The Shabby Chic.  The Elegant Embossed Monogram font is one that I purchased from (where I also purchased my Embird embroidery software).  Grandpa was very happy with the towels.

Christmas Gift for Myself

I meant to post this before Christmas, but…  Better late than never, LOL!
Here is the embroidery hoop set I have been meaning to get since last Christmas.  I decided that I just needed to go ahead and get it.  I added a couple feet for my sewing machine, and the hoops came with seven spools of thread.
I even got a pile of Cami’s to use for crafts! It was a very merry preChristmas for me.

Ms. Diva’s new outfit.

Ms. Diva’s Christmas/Winter outfit is from It’s My Favorite Boutique on Etsy.  It came in the mail last week, and I just had to grab Ms. Diva, take some picks, and show it off to you guys!
Ms. Diva is completely in love with shoes.  She must have a pair on her feet, and a pair in her hands, LOL!  It is funny how a month ago she could walk, but felt that crawling was much better, and faster.  Now, she has completely changed her tune, and is walking everywhere.  We have to keep a close watch on her outside, because she has figured out that she can walk out to where the horses are.  Not to mention the pond, and all the other ‘fun’ things outside.

Gravity always works.

Search and Rescue

Where O’ Where could it have gone?
I have all my Christmas shopping done, but am waiting for a few things to arrive in the mail still.  The only problem… Is that I have not been able to find our Christmas Stockings ANYWHERE?!?!?!  At this point I will be grabbing fabric on Wednesday (the next pre-baby check-up for Ms. T due in January) to make a whole new set of stockings, LOL!  Not a horrible thing, since I only have enough extra fabric from the last set to make Ms. Diva a stocking and not enough for Ms. T too.
I will keep ya’ll posted!  I hope that you have fabulous week.

New Font for Aggie Stay-Put Kitchen Towels

I updated the A&M towel design.  I am now using a steel gray for the embroidery on one and the bold maroon for the other towel.  I also changed the “Aggie Pride” font into a script font.

Elgin Wildcat Stay-Put Kitchen Towels

A new Stay-Put Kitchen Towel set that is sure to be a local favorite.  In fact this pair has already sold, and another pair ordered, LOL!
The local school district is the Wildcats, and uses a lovely royal purple color with white.  This goes right along with the white microfiber towels.
